This is obviously a cheap pump and when it comes to your pocketbook that's nice. I can buy four of them for the price of a good Wayne, which I can't even find anymore.So it lasted about a year and now it's seized or shorted inside. I'm leaning towards shorted since the wiring gets hot quickly when turned on. Of course, the wiring size is way too small for a pump. It's 18 gauge which is incredibly small. It should be 14 gauge minimum.Time to buy another and see if it's a fluke.Additional note. The seller made good on this problem.On another note I pulled the old one out and the cast iron surfaces are very rusty and crusty. It is super stiff to turn, enough so that it can't start and the small wires are probably part of the problem since they heat up fast. I was able to break it free so that it would turn but it really doesn't want to. I found the guard over the wire actually cut into the wire and some of the nuts holding the motor on are super loose. I checked the new pump that replaced it and it had loose assembly nuts too though not as bad. I'll try to remember to post pictures later.

Its been about 2 months. Does the job. Did have to pull it back up and install a secondary check valve at the top of the pump. It does have an internal check valve, but its not that great and wasn't fully closing after 2 weeks. If you do decided to go with this pump, definitely install a check valve at the top of the pump, save yourself the hassle. You'll need a .25"" NPT male in/ 1.25 FNPT out, its about $40 part. Installation was easy. I really wish pumps came with more wiring, but it was easy to connect and waterproof. It did come with a pump to pipe adaptor fitting, but it was stainless steel, I would recommend getting a brass one,. It does have a decent kick to it, so make sure you install a torch arrestor. All in all, for the price, I'm happy. But this is our first submersible pump, we just transitioned from 2 line jet ejection system. But this does seem to cut back the energy usage... and is soooo much more quiet.

I have a 75 foot well and have used many different types of pumps, this one seems to be a keeper! Works better than all the others.

Good pump for a fraction of the price that I expected to pay

It pumps water!

Have it installed in a softener system. 8 months now. Not a single issue. So far so good. Definitely recommend. I did have to remove one that seized up, but it was because the home owner decided to do it himself.
