Does the job
I've had this for a while but we haven't had any snow or ice to speak of so I want able to test it until now. It came with 2 ports to connect to, only one is needed if you have just a single mat to connect to the power cord. Both ports have covers that screw on tightly so when not in use you can keep moisture or whatever out. This also included some stakes if you want to put this somewhere you can stake it in place - I just used on the concrete front steps of our house. They also sent a timer so you can set the time(s) you want this to run if you don't want it on all the time. I didn't use the timer, our power outlet is connected to a light switch. So i put this out on our steps after we got a mixture of freezing rain and a pile of sleet with a side of a dusting of snow, it took around 10 minutes for this mat to completely melt the ice mixture from the step, as soon as it has one step melted, I moved it to the next step & again it took about 10 minutes to melt everything under it. Pretty handy really! Didn't get super hot to the touch or anything, just barely warm but plenty warm to melt ice.The only issue with this is when you set it on anything that already has ice on it, the mat will slide right off if you step on it before the ice is melted. Otherwise though, I would highly recommend this - especially recommend if you get more snow and ice that we do, this would be really great not only for humans but for pets too if they have to navigate steps to get in & out of your house to do their business, particularly if they're older or disabled. Definitely recommend - do keep in mind though that you need 1 for each step/stair.

Ice melting powerhouse
This worked to melt off an ice damn on the roof when needed. It. would be fantastic if it was made with material that did not slide around on snow. I also didnt care for the on off switch that needs to be kept away from water. Otherwise it worked great for us

Good So Far
Nice mat. Wish the connectors were more versatile for orientation. Works as it should and appears you can link an extra to this type so long as they are same size. Haven't used the timer but it looks like a cheap throw-in. Use it to keep my porch step from freezing up and meets my expectations so far.

Works as advertised only problem is water lays on top have to dump off. If you let it there, they can get very slippery so dump water off. Very easy to hook together. Got the bigger one for in front of the storm door on back porch a lot of times snow would build up and almost impossible to open door all glass door was afraid of breaking it. Last snow no problem, melted clear.

Great Product. You can tell it's heavy-duty. The heating feature power cycles as needed in order to save power and it has the ability to be plugged into a timer for additional power savings. However, the supplied power cord is not very long.

The heater does its job but I don’t feel comfortable walking on the treads. I plan to use them to melt a pathway and then move to new areas until surface is cleared. Then remove and store. Connection ports are safe but a bit bulky so care is needed when placing to avoid tripping. The price was very good when compared to others. Rolling up for storage is helpful but adds an extra step of getting it to lay flat when used again.

I was a bit skeptical on the claim to melt snow and ice as fast as stated. These heated mats are so good I bought more! They are heavyweight with good traction and love the reflective trim for night time! So far they have saved me from many mornings where the deck would have ice! The best investment I’ve made and tell everyone they should have these!!!

I love this mat and the price was right! I bought 2 and might be back for more if it goes on sale! Heavy duty and the raccoons won't chew it up!

Anxious to use
I ordered the VEVOR Snow Melting Mat 2023 New, 10 x 30 inch, 3 in/h Melting Speed, Heated Outdoor Mats for Winter Stairs, No-Slip Rubber w/Plug, Power Cord, Outlet Timer, Reflective Strip, Velcro, Ground Stake to help me keep easy access to my back deck during the winter. We haven’t really had a ton of snow yet, so I am not in a rush to put this out. The first thing I will not is that the odor of the mat is horrible. I am not sure which component or layer of the mat it is, but the chemical smell is overwhelming. I opened the box 3 hours ago and had it on the floor about 3 feet away from my desk. I was very aware of the smell and even got nauseous and developed a headache. I took it out of the box and unrolled it and let it sit another hour. The smell seems to have dissipated a bit, but not completely. The 10 x 20 is perfect for covering a standard stair – so I can totally see why they designed these to connect. I can’t speak to if they are truly non-skid on the steps, but I do like that they included stakes to secure the mat if you are using it on the ground. As far as the manual – it is thorough, and I will say that programming does seem a bit complicated. I do think I will try this with a smart plug to make programming a bit easier.

Powerful and sturdy
The 10 x 30 inch VEVOR Snow Melting Mat 2023 is a great product to have if you want to keep your outdoor stairs free from ice and snow this winter without using chemicals or putting much effort in. The mats are made using a very thick, sturdy rubberized material and they stay flat on the ground easily. We haven’t had snow yet this year, so it's hard to judge the claim about melting rates, but the mats seem to produce a steady warmth which will melt the snow similar to other mats I have. The only reason I didn’t give these a five-star review is that the instructions state that they can’t be left plugged in beyond 24 hours, which is not mentioned anywhere on the listing page and isn’t very clearly written in the instructions. It would be better if they had an automatic shut-off feature so it's one less thing to worry about during a snowstorm. Still, I expect these mats to work well and hold up better than other mats I’ve used in the past.
