It get’s really hot in the sun. The covers help but they slip a little when you are pulling yourself out of the water.

This is exactly what we were looking for!

The blue sleeve faded within 2 weeks. Looks like it’s been there 10 years.

We have used this every time since installing. Our steps are deeper than most and this goes out over the water perfectly so it can be grabbed early from the deepest step by the smallest child (2 year old). I did not use the hardware that came with it - in my judgment it would not have lasted long in a wet environment. I used 5/16" X 2 1/4" heavy duty tapcon+ concrete screw anchors which both secured it quite firmly and gave me some peace of mind about longevity in a damp environment. I am very happy with this purchase and the relative ease of installation.

Terrific addition to our 20 yr. pool. Very stable. High quality. Contrary to some reviews, the cheap looking anchor sleeves work incredibly well in concrete or brick. Were you to hit rebar, I think the anchors would still work great even if they were 1" shorter. The drill bit supplied (12mm; so do not use a 1/2" bit) does not fit domestic hammer drills, but I cut off the end and the bit drilled very well (pilot with 1/4" bit). Need a ratchet socket to install lag screws; go slow to reduce heat friction. Hope this helps.

The item does what it is supposed to do on the side of a pool very well. The trouble is in the installation. The drill bit that comes with it is not for a $60.00/$80.OO drill but you need a real rotary drill/hammer. Once you use that be ready for a real drilling work. So the item is excellent but the installation on a concrete surface is a major work.

Very easy to install. Very Solid. Looks like this will be a great purchase. Installed at a beach house. We will see how it handles the salt air.

Initial quality seems good. The drill bit doesn’t have a slotted (Bosch style) shank, so it didn’t work in my hammer drill. And big box stores don’t carry the metric size needed (12mm). I was able to find one online, though.The “wrench” it comes with is pretty flimsy, but at least it’s a 13mm, which is akin to 1/2 inch, a very common size.I was actually impressed with the screw sleeves that it comes with. They’re metal, not plastic, and seem to hold quite well. Just make sure you use a 12mm drill bit.

This was one of the easiest projects for the pool! I would only make 2 suggestions to the manufacturer: 1) include a rubber gasket and 2) include a paper template to mark the holes. I bought some thin rubber material and cut my a gasket to fit between the concrete deck and mounting plate. I believe it makes the whole thing more stable and I know it helped any gaps due to the holes being slightly off center. Otherwise, so far it has been a wonderful addition.
