It's like a used car, but new
Alright so out of the gate I didn't realize that you need to buy MOBIL 827 oil for this thing. It's expensive but I found small portioned bottles of it on ebay for a reasonable price. Buy 2 servings. You'll want to change the oil after a short while after it's broken in. I also suggest getting an auxiliary oil/water (carbon) air filter from Amazon if you're going to be breathing the air like I am. The air/water filter it comes with is BASIC and only for airguns. Okay. So I watch a YouTube video of how to use this thing (which I highly recommend because the instructions are lacking) and I do everything right. As I'm filling my 1.9L dive bottle for the first time, the circuit breaker on the pump trips after 3 minutes. I reset the breaker and try again. Fails within 10 seconds. The circuit breaker is faulty and fried. I order a new one on Amazon and it's way nicer quality and a bit larger. Installed it last night. Now the pump works like a charm. Except for the auto-off function. That didn't work. I set the dial to 3000psi and I saw the needle sparking as it touched the limiter however the circuit relay did not shut off the pump. Not safe. I've been reading online and it looks like the relay switch is sensitive to electromagnetic interference and it's literally zip tied against the side of the motor where EMI is the strongest. I suspect that the auto-off function isn't working because of the proximity of the relay to the motor. I'm going to try moving the relay away from the motor as much as possible and see if that fixes it. Also, this unit seems to draw from 1400W - 1600W depending on how hot the motor is and how much back pressure it's facing. I strongly suggest using ice water in your circulation bucket because room temp water will cause this to exceed 75 degrees Celsius which is the operating limit (and it won't shut off). Honestly, this thing scares me. The instructions say to not leave it unattended while running but also not to get too close because parts of it might explode. No kidding. 3000+ psi isn't something to toy around with. But it filled my 1.9L scuba tank to 3000 psi in about 15 minutes. Not bad. If you're not mechanically inclined, beware. It's easy to fix but has its issues.

Vevor PCP Air Rifle Compressor 4500 PSI
Great portable Compressor! Fills my 24 CI tank on my Gauntlet 2 from 0 to 4500 PSI in about 18 minutes and from 1900 to 4500 in a bit over 11 minutes. Used four times to date and unit runs at a consistent temperature of 35-36C. Hopefully this compressor will provide many more timely and complete fills over the course of time and use. Very satisfied so far! I would recommend this Vevor Compressor. I have read many positive comments about great customer service from Vevor when needed.
