I am using it for my work truck to keep my drinks cold on the hot days on the roof in San Diego. it is amazing! i was considering the $300 plus mini fridges, so when I saw this I was skeptical at the price, but with free returns, I gave it a go. One of the big factors is it being dual voltage, 120v home or 12v in the truck. I keep the drinks in the workshop cold, then unplug it and put it in the truck on 12v.It does not advertise it, but unlike a fridge with a compressor it works perfectly well on its back horizontally, like a chest freezer. The worst part about upright fridges is as soon as you open the door all the cold air falls out, then it has to re cool it all when you close it. This cooler on it's back doesn't have this problem, if you open the door nothing is lost.Bear in mind this is only a cooler/maintainer, not a refrigerator. If you put cold drinks in it keeps them cold for as long as you want. If you put them in at room temperature it will take a long time to cool them.As it is 'winter' in San Diego I don't use it every day now, so it is my beer fridge in the workshop. If I need it I take out the cold beers, and put in the cold drinks, perfect. No need to wait for the cooler to get down to temperature first.I haven't tried the warming function yet, but I feel sure it is the same in reverse.
