Awesome affordable mag drill
I had to drill 32 1/2” holes in a double frame truck frame on a truck I was building. The price of this drill was the same as renting one over the weekend. This seemed cheaper in the long run and if it survived the job I considered it pretty much free after that. It’s a Chinese drill but quality wasn’t too bad. I had to double check and tighten up a few loose screws and check a few connections with the on/off switch but other than that and a pack of cheap mag drill bits we were off and punching holes through truck frame like it was nothing! I use a much more expensive unit to line bore and sleeve semi truck axles at work and this unit did the job just as well. Magnet seems strong but doesn’t have any safety features to shut the drill off if the magnet comes off the metal surface. Just take your time and don’t put too much pressure on the drill. The “safety chain” that came with the drill was a piece of rope. I chuckled at that idea and used a scrap piece of light chain I had laying in the shop. I didn’t think much of the Oiler setup on the drill and after listening to the Oiler squeak for a few minutes took a set of snap ring pliers and took it off and manually lubed the cutting bit with a oil can. Highly recommend and would buy again even though unit seems to have held up very well so I doubt I’ll need to.

So far seems great.
Everything is as it should be and a trial use showed it worked quite well. This really eases up some drilling operations.

It's a good drill but-
The bits get stuck in the drive portion and I have to use vice grips and a hammer to remove them. The drill does have plenty of power for a 120 volt and it is a solid straight drive when drilling. I have used it to drill close to 50 holes thru 1" thick steel plate A36. Good deal for $330.00

Very good budget priced tool.
I used this to drill forty-eight 9/16" holes in the flanges of W6-25 beams. It performed flawlessly. Precision set-up can be a bit fiddly but over-all I would recommend to anyone who is working on a tight budget.

Tree control.
Used this drill for the first time this week. Had to relocate a pintle hitch on log truck. This drill worked flawless and just as good as name brand drills. I drilled through 1” pintle plate without any trouble. I will be using it often so I hope it holds up but as of right now, very satisfied with it.

I have drilled several 1/2 inch diameter holes horizontally thru 1/8 inch steel using an annular cutter bit. Much faster than a twist drill.

nice
Great unit, adjustable speed is a must, especially if you are running larger bits. Coolant bottle works well, i use Slugger brand. I dont like the stress on the electrical connector on the top of the drill motor, i will do something about that but not big deal. I recommend paying a little more for the adjustable speed over the units without. I never ran it on full speed, didnt need to save the bits. And this unit''s top speed is slower than the non adjustable ones. So its a no brainer.

Good tool. Shipping box was not great for the weight
This mag drill really worked for me. I needed the variable speed for line boring several bores on my bulldozer. I had to tighten up the ways on the drill when I first set it up. There is enough extra wire in the mag base to turn it 180 degrees to give more room from the drill centerline to the base. I have also used it with a Jacob’s chuck and twist drills and several annular cutters. I had no problems with the drill at all. It’s quite large and very powerful even at low speeds. I have used mag drills at work that costed thousands more than this and they didn’t even have variable speed.
