…only it's not falling apart.
We've needed to replace the safety cover on our pool for years, but the near $2K price put me off. Finally, last fall, the company who closes the pool in the winter said that they wouldn't put it on again as it was unsafe. So I was going to fork over the $$$ this spring to get it replaced.
Then I saw this one at such an excellent price that I couldn't resist.
At first I was having trouble with the install. I couldn't get the holes drilled for the anchors, all of which were at different spots than the old ones. Finally I invested in a rotary hammer and a proper carbide masonry bit. Can't say it was a treat, but I got the job done in about 2 hours after that, working by myself.
So, 2 bits of advice: One: beg, borrow, or buy a rotary hammer. Two: if you are replacing an old cover, put the new one on before removing the other. The support lets you do the entire job without help. It would have been harder to stretch the cover out otherwise.
Anyway, I consider this an excellent purchase, and if I had to do it again, I would not hesitate to repeat.
