Strong all-metal construction
I spent more for this product in the hopes of avoiding the breakage I'd experienced with my last broadfork. When it arrived I was immediately impressed with the weight; this is a serious piece of equipment. After filing some burrs off the tines, I took it for a spin on a severely compacted portion of the garden. Not a sign of strain, just effective broadfork action. If I have a small complaint, it's that it comes as a bare metal product. For the high price point I'd like to see at least an enamel paint on the handles, but that's doable on your own. I'd also recommend investing in rubber grip tape. Another reviewer said this thing is built "like an excavator bucket." If that's what you need for your soil, then this is the product for you. Definitely recommend.

You'll never break this tool
I have been using a Bully Tools digging fork for some time now. It's the one with the red fiberglass handle, and nearly indestructible, specially chosen as the one least likely to bend or break.

Best garden tool I have.
I had never used a broadfork before I bought this one. It takes the place of a gasoline tiller without the noise or the gasoline. It's easy to use, but here's a warning: It takes a lot of work to plow by hand. This thing provides great exercise. It cuts through soil much easier than a shovel and allows you to break up the ground down to 12 inches. I break the whole row and then do it again from another angle. Then I use a grub-hoe to remove the crabgrass and roots. The two tools work together remarkably well. Maybe not as fast as a gas tiller, but Ill bet it goes deeper. I have been VERY rough with my LAM broadfork and it shows no sign of wear or breakage. This thing is tough. If I ever manage to break it, I will gladly buy another.

Wished I had it years ago!
This is very solid and has turned over thousands of pounds of hard packed clay. I leave a few inches of the prongs out when I use so it’s not so much pressure. I have bent one prong slightly when it got caught on a root deep down, but have used it many hours since without any further issue. This tool is great for getting deep quickly- I can make a couple passes in a bed and have it a foot and a half excavated- tossing most of the large clumps out by hand(still pretty hard work). I wish I had a broad fork years ago! Ive used it over my tiller for established garden areas many times.

Sturdy
Very heavy duty product I doubt I will break it. Used it to till up one of my smaller beds for a test run and it worked very well. I do however shish there was some sort of brace to keep the handles a little more sturdy. I'm also not sure what the triangular parts on the lower part of each handle are for they are to steep to work as a step so maybe a guide for how low to go? Not sure. Came wrapped up in brown paper and tape but arrived intact.

Best hand tool I have
Well built tool and solid. It's heavy, but the weight works in your favor. Bottom line is it's a work out, but it digs deep without "cutting" the soil or your worms and weeds are easy to lift right out. I have a lot of wild bermuda with deep roots and it digs it all up and easy to lift and shake. Get a lot of dandelion too and it gets that deep carrot like root out easy. Really a nice tool and worth the price.

A Rare Find in a Mass Produced World
This thing is built solid and is a no joke broadfork. Not for the faint of heart. You'll see when you get it. I've seen the flimsy ones which work ok in loam and well worked beds, but I've seen them handles twist and bend when put to work on heavy clay soils. That is not this one. This thing is welded like an excavator bucket and performs like one too. Love the handle orientation. Yes it's not the lightest and yes it's gonna be a little bit of a workout, but its gonna be either you or the soil that gives out first cause this thing ain't breaking and that's exactly what I was looking for. Money well spent on a lifetime product.

Beast!
This tool is a beast! I’ll never rototill again with a gasoline powere complicated machine that sits in the garage all year and needs upkeep and repairs. This is all I need for tilling my big garden.

The Perfect Gardening Tool
This broadfork is the perfect tool for gardening ! It is simple, rugged and requires only your body weight to operate ... The construction is simple and strong. All the welds were done well and the material should last a lifetime. I am in the camp of no-till gardening to keep the Rhizosphere vibrant and alive, but I understand the importance of watering and allowing nutrients to leach into the ground. This product insures this !! No moving parts, never needs fuel ..... I love this thing !!!

Perfect for Serious Gardening -- and Indestructible
This broadfork is very nearly identical to the one designed by Stanford engineering students for Common Ground, the organization founded by John Jeavons, author of "How to Grow More Vegetables."
