I use this mat between my sliding glass door and hot tub on my deck. It keeps the ice and snow away and we can walk in and out without have to shovel.

I have a steel roof on my porch that always slides off and refreezes at the bottom of my steps. Salt/calcium chloride has little success at clearing a safe path. I often wake up to ice buildup over a foot thick. I’m 73 and failing health. Due to the weight of the snow when it suddenly slides off the roof I’m unable to install a gutter to redirect the water flow. This mat eliminated the problem almost immediately.

I love this mat, it works perfectly. It melts the ice and snow in just a few minutes after plugging it in. The timer that comes with it is for indoor use only???? It says it right on the package. On the picture in the ad it shows the timer plugged inside with the black cord for the mat plugged into it. How are we suppose to use this timer? The black cord for the mat is too thick to close my door on it. So, now I have to go outside and plug it in and out. If I could send back the timer and get a timer that is used for outside that would be helpful. Outdoor timers with remote are upwards of $25.00. an added expense to an already expensive product.

Makes shoveling so much easier. You do have to have it plugged in so you will need an outlet.

We added a long extra run for our chickens, we used this to tie to the top of a chain link fence to protect our chickens from overhead predators. It is working great. So far we have not had any winged or four-legged varmints get into our chicken run. It did take two people to stretch it over the pen area. Well made and heavy enough to keep out problems.
