I installed this door in about 20 minutes. Cutting the hole was the hardest part. I followed the directions that came with the door and it was a breeze. The girls weren't too sure about it at first. They wouldn't use it the first night. The next morning it was open when I came outside and they were all waiting by it, not coming out. I threw some scratch around the opening to coax them out. After 3 days of working with them, they now come in and out on their own. I get up at 6:15am and they are already out and foraging. It makes my heart so happy they don't have to wait on me. I did switch to using a box for them to hop up to and peek in the door rather than the chicken ladder with this door. They seem to prefer that now.

I got tired of having to keep track of opening and closing the coop door manually so I decided to get this automatic door even though it was a bit pricey. It worked fine for the months when it didn't rain, but after a couple of days of heavy rains it started to not work a couple nights and mornings until it just stopped working altogether. I really really liked this automatic door as far as functionality goes(I think it's by far the best chicken coop door on the market), but I didn't want to pay another $180 for a new one. Then I realized this had a 1 year warranty. I tried their web site and thought if nothing else maybe I can just buy a new drive train. Their customer service wanted to know what the problem was. He wasn't interested in selling me anything but figuring out what the problem was and just sending me a new drive train if the old one was defective which it turned to be. So he's sending me a new drive train free of charge. This was all done within a couple of hours in the middle of the night(what?!) like 4am. I've never experienced this level of customer service before. It's like next level. There are other chicken doors in the market, but what you get with this product isn't just a great product but awesome customer service and support. That alone us worth the price.

I have 2 of these now. They work great, no issues at all. The do exactly what they advertise they will do and they are reliable. I don't have to worry if the chicken and duck doors are or closed when they shouldn't be. I tried another brand to save some money but the old adage "you get what you pay for" hit home. I returned that malfunctioning unit and got a door from Run-Chicken. If you're looking for a automatic coop door, just buy this one and be done with it. Life has enough worries to it, a chicken door shouldn't be one of those worries.

I have purchased, installed and used just about every automatic chicken door available and this on by far outshines the others. It's SIMPLE & WORKS. I had fancey doors with wifi and phone apps and timer based doors and everything inbetween. You won't be disappointed with this purchase. Set it up one time and forget it... you never have worry about if it opened or closed because it ALWAYS DOES!
