This electric takoyaki maker worked well in my experience. The good stuff: Very good non-stick, good takoyaki size, decent heat uniformity, easy to clean. Very good value at this price. The not good stuff: Temperature control was poor - although it came up to temperature and held it pretty accurately when initially heating, when batter was added the temperature went from 325F to 185F (measured with non-contact IR thermometer) and would not remain at cooking temp unless the temp control was set to about maximum. Heating capacity is not really adequate for using both sides at once. The manufacturer's claim of 4,000 watts is misleading, and cannot be realized from a standard US 120 volt 15 amp circuit. The final result: the takoyaki had a thicker crispy outsides than I wanted, but the insides was still good and moist. It will have a slight learning curve to compensate for the heating issue.I wonder if it can be re-wired for 240 volt operation. . .All in all, a good but not great takoyaki maker, but excellent value for the money.
