If you leave it in Manual mode it runs quietly, in standby, until you use the hot water then it speeds up. In this mode, you will truly always have instant hot (warm) water at the tap. Need to use with comfort valve under the sink furthest away from the hot water heater. If you put it in AUTO mode it will only run when you turn on the hot water. This shortens the time for the hot water to get to the tap but not instant hot water like if you leave it in manual.

My husband installed this pump to bring hot water from the water heater to our kitchen sink, which is a long distance away. This allows the water to be hot while using the sink without wasting gallons of water waiting for the water to be warm.

Disliked how long it took to arrive but once it got here I was able to install it pretty easily

About a month ago I decided to install a solar water heater for my home. The usual setup is that both the tank and panel are installed on the roof in close proximity to each other. However I did not want the huge tank on my roof as it would spoil the aesthetic. I decided to leave the tank on the ground. I then did the copper piping to connect both panel and tank. The span between the two was about 20 feet. After days of waiting for the water to heat, I got only lukewarm water. I live in the caribbean where we have sunshine for 13 hours per day. After days of frustration my uncle who is a plumber suggested getting a circulating pump. I started researching pumps and was really impressed with the spec of this pump. I decided to buy. The pump arrived quickly and I was able to install it quite easily. Within an hour I had very hot water as the pump was able to efficiently circulate all the water in the tank! I decided to automated the pump by adding the TPlink H100 smart plug as a timer. With the smart plug I am able to schedule the pump to run for a few hours at a time. My one wish is that the pump came with a built in timer. As you can see it is easy to remedy this with a smart plug

Didn't want a pump with a timer for my hot water circulator like the one Watts uses in their 500800 kit. So, I bought the Watts 596816 Sensor valve kit and this great little 3 speed pump for a lot less money.Now, the last piece of the puzzle is the wireless remote control outlet that is controlled by an app that each of us in the house have on their smart phone. In our install, with the pump set on high (3), switch it on, wait 3 to 3½ min. shut it off and enjoy instant hot water in any room that has the valve kit installed. The "timer pumps" are a fixed schedule affair that doesn't work for our household. Picture 2 is the remote outlet. Picture 3 is the Watts kit. We save approximately 3 gallons of water every time someone showers.

Works very good and quiet

This very well made multi speed pump is perfect to replace the very expensive pump on my solar water heating system in south Florida. Only word a of caution ,don't run it without water in the complete system as it uses that water for lubrication . This pump should work well in any hot water heating plan.
