So much better than a dock ladder
We had a ladder with wide steps that were fine but our parents in their 80s couldn't come out of the water using them. We added these steps and everyone fell in love with them...even the dog.

easey way into the water
I really liked the product . I have 2 suggestions;1 I live on the coast and need a easy way to get the step ladder out of the water. i suggest a device where I can lift and pivot the ladder out of the salt water to prevent barnacles.2. My dock is 10 feet deep. Can I attach an extension so it would touch to the bottom to make the ladder more secure.

perfect tool
Great once you figure out “self tapping nail” is a screw. Should come with flat and locking washers and thread locking compound. Would be nice to offer a front leg kit for use with floating docks.

Works great, quiet!
This is a light weight, very well made set of steps. The parts fit together perfectly so it was very easy to put together.

Assembly of the stairs was not difficult, and once assembled, the stairs were reasonably sturdy in the water. Given the absence of any lock washers, I added stainless steel lock nuts to all the bolt ends. The plan to attach the stairs to the dock was essentially impractical in my situation. This plan called for overlapping approximately a one-inch angle iron (aluminum) over the edge of the dock, then screw this in with two one inch #6 screws. In my situation in a bay of Lake Ontario this would last about 15 minutes. I improvised by bolting a 2" x 4" to the width of the top of the stairs, attached deck frame holders to the dock, then inserted the 2' x 4" into the deck frame holders. Overall, I am pleased with these stairs.

Dock stairs
I'm very happy with these steps. It is secure, and holds heavy people with no sign of stress, which I am very conscious about. It does not get slippery at all. My son's put it together, didn't take long. The rails are wobbly but sturdy. I put some shims in to hold them still. They make getting in and out from the dock so much easier and safer for everyone. The steps from the dock store were$1500. I saved so much money! Very, very happy!

Sturdy enough
Assembly was fairly simple and completed in about 30 minutes. You'll need 2 13 MM wrenches or 1/2 inch wrench. I was missing a bolt which I expected after reading other reviews. The stairs are solid but you should expect some wiggle in the handles although it don't think it'll make a difference in use. They include little screws to attach to a dock but I wouldn't trust those. Go with lags. I'll know more once we get it in the water but overall it should work for your needs.

The dock ladder was easy to assemble, although the instructions were poorly written. Some screws were shown on instructions yet not shown how used. The dock will serve its intended purpose.
