I got this for my sons shop after his expensive name brand one broke the first time he used it and they wouldn’t warranty replace it. You could tell from the break it was the bad metal. This one has been used numerous times and has been perfect every time.
Quality product. Takes some arm strength to clamp these down. Work for an old man, easier for a young one. Local AC shops wanted $20 per crimp. I had 12 with 3 sizes. Saved me a bundle. Used these on a Vintage Air hot rod system.
The press screw on mine started to seize up and gall the threads on the first 2 uses. Found out there is no lubricant on the threads, bad for aluminum. I cleaned it up and put some oil and anti sieze on the threads, and it did my vehicles AC lines perfectly.
On the first crimp the chrome finish on threads flaked off and everything bound up. After a good cleanup it worked perfect. Very nice looking crimps. Good product, it would have better to just used a standard bolt. ( no chrome)
