3/8 cable is pretty well established.However due the possibilty of rusting it was overly greased

They sent me a 1/2 inch cable even though I paid for and ordered 3/8 so maybe they were out of stock but I was glad for the extra safe strength as I purchased it to cut and pull over dead trees. The hook on a swivel was a bonus too as this appears to be made for tow trucks I just looped the other cut end with a chain hook and clamps
