I am not as musically fluent as I wish I were, but this tongue drum is nice in that I can come up with a sequence of notes, and, often, it is pleasing to the ear. The drum came with numbers applied to each of the 13 tongues, #1 = C, #2 = D, and so on. Pretty easy to play melodies... Can get some nice sequences to repeat and I, as I mentioned, am pleased. I have not had much time with other instruments of the sort made by other manufacturers, but they can cost considerably more than this version of a steel tongue drum.I keep it out on my kitchen table and if I walk by, I usually grab the mallets and play for a couple minutes. The act makes me feel better.

I'm not a musician nor have a good ear, but I gave this to my husband who works as a composer for films, and he loved it. Perfect to add percussion to different set-ups, very beautiful sound, packaging is nice and it got delivered safe and sound. Great instrument!

I have been searching for a handpan drum but none have been in my budget. I bought this one and I’m floored by how awesome it sounds. I can’t love this drum enough. I sent a few of my friends to buy this drum and they have all loved theirs too.

every note is clear & loud except one......

Amazing. Play it gently for the best sound.One tongue seemed dead until it was played gently... fine tuning can be done with a small file should you need to and instructions are included.My kids have barely left it alone since I unpacked it.

Still portable but large. Nice tones. Going to get a couple of song books. Price point was great. Can refine tuning if pitch is slightly off.
