This drum is idea to play Chinese ancient music or other spiritual music. And it's easy to carry aroundTrue you don't get all 7 notes in western music (Chinese music use 5 note+) but bear in mind, this is a drum we are talking about, most drum can't even make different notes.My daughter love it, and the sound is beautiful, even when a beginner learning how to play, it's not that annoying

Gift for Christmas for grandson on autism spectrum. Soothing sound, well made, less expensive than others so didn't want to go all out if he didn't enjoy it.
