Had to drill slightly different holes a couple times when things didn't line up correctly, so it was a pain to put together. Still seems fairly sturdy and safe for the kid.

I like it it is safe for your toddler of course with a adult close all the time

This tower once fully assembled is pretty sturdy. I felt like I had to be pretty gentle with some of the screws to not strip or crack the wood. As long as you assemble with caution, it will be just fine. The price point on this one is quite a bit better than others I have seen.

Some of the pieces were cut at poor angles (pictured) that made assembly a little difficult, but it was overall ok. The instructions were clear and it was quick to put together. It feels pretty sturdy and my toddler is able to use it at the counter.

The safety bar had to be re-drilled so the screws would fit right but that wasn't an issue. Either way tho, the thing is sturdy enough for both kids. They love having the option to be at the counter.

Not exactly where I wanted to start the review, but I want to be sure not to forget mentioning... the versatility of this stool. Once my child is past the need for the wonderful guard rails, they can be removed. It can then still be used as a stool... without the excess space consumption, a stool that even smaller adults can use, but also... I am totally looking forward to using this as a student type of school desk for my child. My toddler is already able to sit on the bottom step and use the top step as a desk. It's the perfect size! Great versatility!! I LOVE this step stool! For the original characteristics of this stepstool. First off, it's huge. Keep that in mind. This is not for those needing to save on space. Once it's put together, that's it. One thing I wish is that it could fold down, but this version (kitchen stool helper) does not. It does take up quite a bit of space. Luckily, I have the space. My daughter is such the little 'helper'. I mean she wants to take part in and help with everything, especially dinner... and anywhere else she can't naturally reach. This stool gets her right up to, almost my height, and the perfect height to stand at the counter and help me. I must add how Absolutely excited she was to help me put this piece together, but most definitely was she overally excited once it was done. Soon as Daddy pulled up after work she was ready to show him her new big girl step stool! This stool is so sturdy and SAFE! There are no concerns for safety. Once she's up, she's up, and with the safety bar (optional really) she actually has to sit down and scoot under the bar to get off. Although that feels like an unnecessary extra step, it ensures they're not falling backwards, or from the front trying to step down. It really is optional and you don't have to add on that bar. I chose not to as my 2, almost 3 year old is quite comfortable with steps. Plus this thing is so big and sturdy... I just don't feel concerned. That's a choice to make with yo

It works. Instructions were very clear. The material is lightweight but feels sturdy even with my weight. Great for kids. It's a but more open than others I've seen, which is fine up against a counter, but it makes me a little nervous with smaller toddlers. Only complaint is that one of the pre-drilled holes was completely off, by almost the width of the screw and went in at an angle. I was going to widen it, but lining it up properly would have destroyed doubled the hole and been pointless. Fortunately, the area it was located wasn't critical, so I just left it open. It's secure enough with others surrounding it.
