Thank you for the previous answers. Sorry but I am still a little confused: 1. What happens if I let go of the Up button during a lift? Will the load stay at that height or drop? If it will drop, will it be immediately or after what time? Or will it stay until the motor burns and then drop? 2. If I press the red button during a lift, how long will/can the load stay in that position? Thanks!

Stop pressing the up button, and the load will stop in mid-air and will not fall. Press the emergency stop button and the load will stay in mid-air. The machine is not allowed to be loaded for a long time. You should press the down button as soon as possible to lower the load.

Question:

Question regarding hoist control: Suppose I hang a load on hook and press and hold the Up button, and the load goes up. Now what happens if I let go of the Up button? Does the load remain hanging in place or starts lowering? If it stays in place, is it by a brake in the hoist? (I know I'm not supposed to leave it hanging, but I'm trying to understand how to handle the load once it's raised to the desired height.)

Pressing the up button will lift the weight, and the stop button will stop the weight immediately, not allowing the machine to hang the weight for a long time.

Set-up and operation is straightforward. I did have problems with my first purchase, whether from opening an added limit switch or frequent up and down maneuvers in initial testing, the hoist stopped working properly. I ordered a second unit and have had no problems so far, set up at 880# and typically lifting 300 to 500 lbs. It is rather loud but can tolerate that.

Northern Tool was a good be higher in price

I actually bought and sent back the exact same electric hoist from Northern Tool,,, only difference the Vevor was a lot cheaper, and I've had several items from Vevor and I'm very happy with their products vevor had a much much better price so I sent that one back and then ordered this one vevor Love it It's great Thanks Mike

This could save your life !!!!!

I am using this hoist with unistrut and trollies to move tires, totes and things I can't carry up the attic stairs. With the knowledge right parts, hardware and this hoist it was a easy install.

Works fine but I noticed it has a little seepage when not in use for a while. Also when you push the button it's full speed be nice if it had slow start at least, some jobs could use that feature.

Works well for my use.

Mounted it to the wall to use as a joist to remove my Jeep hardtop. Works just fine for this application. Makes a hard job much easier. Quality seems pretty good, it’ll have an easy life so it should hold up for quite a few years.
