Work area safety
- Keep the work area clean and well lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents.
- Keep children and bystanders away while operating; distractions will cause you to lose control.
Personal safety
- Stay alert, watch your actions, and use common sense when operating the tool. Do not use the tool while you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or medication. A moment of inattention while operating hydraulic tools may result in serious personal injury.
- Use safety equipment. Always wear eye protection. Safety equipment such as a dust mask, non-skid shoes, hard hat, or hearing protection, used in appropriate conditions, will reduce personal injuries.
- Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry. Keep your hair, clothing, and gloves away from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewelry, or long hair can be caught in moving parts.
- Do not force the tool. Use the correct power tool for your application. The correct power tool will do the job better and safer at the rate for which it was designed.
- Store idle power tools out of the reach of children, and do not allow persons unfamiliar with manual pressing tools to use them. These tools are dangerous in the hands of untrained users.
- Maintain power tools. Check for misalignment or binding of moving parts, breakage of parts, and any other condition that may affect the manual pressing tool’s operation. If damaged, have the Manual pressing tool repaired before use. Poorly maintained power tools cause many accidents.
- Use the Manual Pressing Tool, accessories, tool bits, etc., in accordance with these instructions and in the manner intended for the particular type of tool, taking into account the working conditions and the work to be performed. Using the hydraulic pressing tool for operations that are different from those intended could result in a hazardous situation.

Understand Your Tool
Thanks for buying and using the Pex pipe crimping tool FT-1824. The tool integrates ergonomic design, has a perfect appearance, is lightweight and easy to operate, and is suitable for PEX pipe construction.
Installation Instructions

- Pull back on the moving handle and open the jaws fully (your crimping tools do not work like pliers …don’t force the handles apart).
- Position the jaws squarely around the ring.
- Gently let the handles open to close the jaw on the ring.
- Squeeze handles together to get a complete crimp, one crimp only!
- Pull back on the moving handle to release the jaws from the crimped ring.
- Measure the crimped ring with the GO/NO-gauge supplied with your tool. See the table below for crimp specifications. Do not measure bumps on the ring where the jaws meet. If the GO gauge does not fit, or the NO-GO gauge does fit, remove the nut from the connection, replace the fitting and ring, adjust and calibrate the tool, and recrimp the fitting with a new ring.
The following dimensions are the ASTM maximum and minimum crimped ring diameters for PEX pipe installations.

Adjusting Your Crimp Tool
The 8524860 and 8524894 tools are adjusted using the back hexagonal pin.

- To adjust for a tighter crimp, remove the e-clip.
- Slide the back pin head out about 1/4″.
- Rotate the back pin until the line on the hexagonal head points to the next highest number on the tool body.
- Push the pin back in and re-fit the clip.
Maintenance: For easier, better crimps and a longer tool life, keep the tool clean and rust-free inside and out. Keep all moving parts lubricated with light oil!
Maintenance and Servicing
- Keep tools and spare parts dry. Rain, moisture, and various liquids or moisture may corrode tool metal surfaces.
- Do not store tools in places that are too cold or too hot.
- Do not use strong chemical cleaners or strong detergents to clean tools.
- If the tool is not used for a long time, wipe its surface with anti-rust oil and store it in the toolbox.
- After a long time of use, the sealing kits will be damaged. If there is leakage, please contact the manufacturer and/or the distributor to change the sealing kits. Service to the tool should only be done by a qualified Service Technician.
