Is both the top and bottom finished so that the vertical ends might have the sharp edges once cut to siz?

Yes there will be sharp edges if you cut in the middle, and yes the top and bottom will have a bit of a sharp edge normally too.

Works as it should
This is a roll of hardware cloth. It is exactly as it should be. I was able to snip the wires easily, but they are strong enough to hold. I like to fold my hardware cloth at the bottom edge, and it folds the way I like it. The grid is small enough to keep ALL animals, rodents, snakes, etc, out of my chicken coop. The price point is good for the product. No negatives. This is exactly as described and does what you expect hardware cloth to do. I am pleased with product.

Purchase this wire to keep out mice and chipmunks from under our RV getting inside. It was easy to work with and easy to cut. I used tapping screws with washers to hold in place. Best price and is working great. Will buy again if needed.

I have small dogs and the fence in my backyard has larger slots, so we wrapped the wire around the fence in the yard to keep the dogs in and the critters out. I wanted something that would be easily around the fence post. It works great.

Plants, in, rodents out! This hardware cloth does the trick if used properly. Or, you could do it my way and haphazardly, desperately rig it up with zip ties behind your existing decorative fencing in a feeble midseason attempt to keep the critters out. Your choice. Wear gloves and cut with wire snips.

This is a very good quality item. It is heavier than I expected, but that's a good thing. We are planning to use it to \"shore up\" a wooden fence that has boards that are falling down, and the heavy-duty (19-gauge) galvanized wire that this is made of should work well. It arrived in perfect condition because it was well-packaged. It also came in a good size for our needs. I'm impressed with this item.
