I bought for use of butchering a lamb. So far that has been the only time I've used it, but it seems to work well after some tuning. After the first three cuts, the band slipped off the top wheel with a tremendous "bang!", scaring the daylights out of me. After determining I still had all my body parts, and that cause of the bang, I reassembled the band. It proceeded to do the same thing 3 more times before I realized something was wrong. The instructions are very lacking, so after some studying I realized the top pully was out of alignment, and there is a set screw to turn to align it properly with the power pulley. Fixing that, the saw worked great for the remainder of the processing. The saw bands apparently come coated with an oil to prevent corrosion. Unfortunately, that didn't clean off well to start and left black on the meat, but it did scrape off fine. The guide board for setting thickness isn't anything special, having to set two adjustment bars to get it straight and locked. One bar would be more convenient for my needs at there isn't good reason to allow it to tilt and cut and an angle for meat. The machine cleaned up well. I opened it up and sprayed it out with the hose, followed by disinfectant then a final rinse. The saw band didn't clean well and ultimately rusted quickly such that its easier to throw it away and use one of the extras provided. I'll likely look for stainless steel blades in the future. Overall it worked well after a few nuances. The price was right for what it is. The saw, with adjustment, seems great. The blades could be better.
