This will be perfect for our dock at our vacation cabin in Minnesota. We've been using a ladder that's been on our dock for years that's too short and narrow and basically a pain to use for some of us that are getting older. This new dock ladder has a retractable design which can adjust from 36\" to 48\" which makes climbing up so much easier. The width is nice at almost 2 feet across. 5 steps with a 12\" space between steps for easy climbing and the steps have a non slip rubber pad for safe usage. The hand rails have a nice feel and attaching to the dock securely should not an issue. Assembly was pretty easy just time consuming. Lots of bolts and nuts but once assembled it looked good and felt pretty durable. I looked at some of the reviews others have posted about this ladder and they seem pretty mixed. I received all the correct parts and my easy to comprehend instructions were included with my order. It seems there were issues in the past but those issues have been corrected. All in all, I cant wait to get this in the water, it will get plenty of use for sure. What is also nice about it is that you can remove it pretty easy for winter storage when the lake freezes. I may fabricate something for a more secure dock attachment but I have to wait and see once I have it in the water. I probably wont have to. I just like to make stuff. I will edit this post if any issues occur but for now Im pretty stoked with it. 5 steps = 5 stars for this one.

We got this ladder for our pool and its a perfect addition. We had to figure out how to install without drilling into our concrete and with some elbow grease, we were able to figure something out to still be able to use this. The ladder itself is a great quality and is everything we needed. It's very solid, heavy duty, and is retractable. The material will not rust so it's perfect for outdoors whether its a boat, or a pool. I am very happy with this product, and I also think it's a great price for something that will last a very long time.

This is a very sturdy, adjustable, full-sized ladder. Check the dimensions, many in this price range offer much more narrow AND shallow steps. Being a full-sized person myself, I appreciate the ergonomics of this ladder. Assembly is easy and straightforward, with good hardware. When it comes to the included dock attachment hardware, however, I found that to be a little 'undersized' for ultimate security. I beefed that up on my installation. However, some units do not even include this hardware at all. I also would have preferred welded on steps instead of bolted, but that is all part of the price point. My only other criticism is I would have liked the top curved handrails to be round pipe, instead of square tube. While that would have made this more comfortable to grab, I still feel that at this price point this is a great heavy duty, adjustable, properly sized ladder.

I'll be using this ladder on a dock that we only visit seasonally. The design makes it easy for me to mostly preassemble and throw in the back of the truck. All I have to do is screw down the mounting plates when we get there and unscrew them when the trip is over (if I don't then I'll have to buy another one next year). The metal feels reasonably strong. I like the four inch step widths. The skinny or round steps always hurt my feet when I climb (I'm over 200 lbs). I was really impressed by the fish scale welds holding all the prefab pieces together. Usually you're lucky to get a spot/laser weld. These look like they should hold up for a long time. I always struggle with stuff like this that has a bunch of pieces to put together. It's not hard, it's just tedious. So long as you can put together flat pack furniture I think you'll be ok. There are instructions, read them. Barring any QC errors I think most people will find these to be a good value.
