The pH value will not change, because PVC itself is not a water-soluble substance.
Normally, water will infiltrate weak acid or weak base substances into PVC, so that a thin layer of sticky substance will be formed on the surface of the water body, near the position of PVC, by releasing excess hydrogen ions. So under normal circumstances, it's better to empty it immediately after use.
If the water quality needs to reach a certain standard, the conventional treatment methods are:
1. With the aid of a water filtration unit (such as solution-blown cotton/carbon/mineral stone).
2. Add an appropriate amount of soda or alum for precipitation, and then pass through the filter device again to achieve the range of use required by customers.
Please note:
1) If it is only used for agricultural and horticultural irrigation or agricultural and animal husbandry, the above treatment is not required.
2) This product is a civilian product and it is not recommended to use unconventional chemicals to adjust the pH value.
I'm using this for camping, mostly for showering and cleaning, not for drinking water. I carry the bladder on my roof rack and it gravity feeds a 20 gallon tank with a pump in the bed of the truck. On longer trips, particularly with shower, 20 gallons wasn't enough. Seems well made...like a white water raft. Mine came with the pictured valve and like others I purchased a garden hose and quick connect adapter. Only time will tell how long it would hold up using it the way I do, but if I get a couple of seasons out of it, I will be very happy.
Got this to use on our garden so we don’t have to haul water over 1/2 miles to water melons and pumpkin garden. It really came in handy with the long drought period right after seeds planted. We put on a dual hose connector and using our loader on the tractor we were able to water 4 rows of seedlings! Saved us hours of hauling and watering!
