I bought two. I hooked them up to check to see if they worked. They did. I will find a time to install. The Panels are nice, the fan is akin to a car radiator fan. Which is sturdy, heavy plastic. The fan comes with mounting brackets, hardware as does the panels. I think the cable/wire is #10 and is about 12' long. The thermostat MPCC which is what you need to run a Solar/Dc connect direct. One could wire some batteries in series or parallel to charge and run when there is cloud cover or after the sun goes down. One would instead of wiring the fan direct to panel instead put the battery in between the panel and MPCC/ Thermostat then the panel would charge the battery and then run the fan from the battery direct. However, the fan will wear out quicker if you do not have an MPCC to regulate the DC flow. I think they are manufactured well and are a deal at sub $100 range. Now as far as a gable vent application. Realize that air flows with the path of least resistance. So if you have a vented ridge (like I do) and a gable vent, the fan will just pull the nearest air which would be at the ridge vent. FWIW. If your roof is sealed like a dry climate you just tie this up to the Gable vent and exhaust hot air from the attic out the vent. Some argue that the fan is useless since it is radiation that is heating the attic from the sun and blowing the air out is pointless. I think sucking Hot air from the attic and cooling tjhe attic to 110 opposed to 150 will help the Chase/venting deliver cooler air to ducts. I have Styrofoam insulation covering all my Chase/Ducts to avoid the Radiation. This unit is going to be installed in my garage access point to attic, where it will pull cooler air from the garage area into the attic and the ridge vent and gable vent will do their job. The other is for my green house/hoop house. I will have to fabricate some brackets to mount and to put it on a bit of a tilt to chase the evening sun. I think the fan itself eats energy as the sun needed to be bright to drive the fan itself...1300 cfm is pretty good, it is akin to a 20" shop fan on low.

Bought this on a chance and no regrets. Great item. Battery does not store power, but when the sun is high it's running hard. Works beautifully in our little greenhouse. Ordering our second today.

Its a great fan. I use it in my bee shed to keep my hives cool would recomend to friends.

I bought two of these solar fans to put in my hoophouse. They were easy to install, quality material, arrived fast, and were very affordable. I will definitely be buying some more for the other houses we have.

Works great for moving hot air from my greenhouse! It is actually very quiet also which is nice! I have been using this for about one month now and so far so good…I can’t attest to the longevity of the product yet, though it seems to be well made!

I used this as a replacement for a roof vent fan. Worked great all summer, no noise in room below. If it wasn't for the cooling, I wouldn't even know it was there.

Adding a couple of these to the attic has improved the comfort level of the entire office. when we bought this office building, one of the few suggestions from the inspector was that we improve the ventilation in the attic to bring down the temperature there. I considered several options before landing on these. We added two of these to the attic and found that the entire office stayed more comfortable with less air conditioner run time. We are now going to add these to our home and will be expecting similar results there. would definitely buy these again

Hot room, SW corner. Missed getting it in before the last big heatwave, but it definitely makes a difference when it gets warm. I’d say it cools the room by several degrees.

I was sure the solar panel would be blown off in the hurricane but NOT so. My pool cage was damaged, fence blown apart but nothing happened to the fan or raised solar panel. I am shocked. Would ABSOLUTELY buy again!

This is a great alternative for those that want the solar vent on a budget. They do just as good as the name brands.
