GOOD VALUE
I was surprized how nice this Mini lathe is . It comes with so many extras like a 4 jaw chuck and a quick install tool post. Takes awhile to set it up properly but I am now turning quality items with a very good finish. really enjoying learning about metal lathe work. Very satisfied with my purchase.

Great lathe for the $$. Needed a little adjustment as I expected from other reviews. Quality good for the size. The added extra tools and attachments were a plus that made it a good purchase. Thanks

Now, when I have used this lathe for over a week, I have to admit I totally enjoy it. I am still learning its limitations and how far it can be push but this lathe is simply awesome for my needs.

Broken protective shield, slow shipping
Item arrived in perfect condition (from the outside), well packaged and undamaged. Shipping took quite a bit longer than estimated upon ordering, but that is to be expected. The protective plastic shield however was shattered (which seems to be the trend with these mini lathes). I suspect they should remove the shield for shippingOther than that, needed some adjustment out of the box, but works as expected otherwise. For those looking on how to install the quick change toolpost (does not come attached), there will be a little locating pin underneath the turret tool holder. It simply pulls straight out (spring underneath), don't spend an hour fiddling with unscrewing it, disassembling the cross slide, filing it down, etc like I did!

Great Little Lathe
It’s not perfect but it was perfect for what I need. I suggest taking apart each moving part and re-assembling to make sure all bed ways are secure and no slack. If you do this just right you can achieve .001” tolerances. I suggest re-centering your tailstock and inserting set screws that are included but not obviously marked for tailstock. I suggest buying an accurate yet affordable DRO for your carriage. I bought mine here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B08LB5W41R?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_image. It fit perfectly once i removed the chip guard. I 3d printed a part to fit around the head of a screw behind the carriage. This piece was glued to the slide on the DRO (see photos). Installing only took 2 screws and it allows me to get .001” tolerance along the carriage. Also note you need to properly ground the machine. If you do not have a metal table then you will need to splice the ground wire inside the machine and ground it properly. All in all if you do these few things you can really maximize your efforts on your lathe. Great little machine!

Passible mini lathe use it accordingly
TIR is .0005 on the spindle, tested after 1/2 hour of run time. Measurements were at location points three1. From the face of the spindle.2 from the 6 o'clock position of the thru hole at the rear of the spindle3 from the 12 o'clock position on the outside edge of the spindle. the three jaw self-centering chuck TIR is .002. So the 3-jaw needs some work. The 4 jaws independent TIR is .00015 which brings the TIR combined to.00065 this is totally fine for a mini lathe. Now for the negativesThe Shipping box while sturdy was insufficient to protect the mini lathe. The steady rests were not secured and they broke the Lathe safety shield. In addition the steady rests had bent adjusting hardware and seemed to come from another lathe. The tailstock is adequate but just barely. This needs improvement on machining as it does not fit flush on the V-Notch of the Bed. This could have been avoided and they could have made it a compound tail stock so as not to put the adjustment on the bottom which necessitates total removal in order to center it to the headstock.Tooling and supplied accessories to include gears. The tooling is fine, and you can use Sandvik-Cormorant, Kennametal, or Kodiak inserts. The 4-way tool post can use some finished work. It is adequate though rough looking. The quick change would be better suited if it was a steel Quick change, not aluminum. It is fine for soft metals such as Brass260 and 4150CMV. I did use the lathe to change a profile on a new M4/AR Barrel that was causing some issues with gas block fitment. The quick change held up to fit.The dial calipers are metric and are .02mmThe outside micrometers are metric .001 graduationsThe light will need a better 18650 batteryThe plastic gears are best changed out to the steel set that the manufacturer VEVOR sells. These plastic ones have not cracked yet.The lathe does both metric and imperial threading. I use it for 1/2X28tpi and 5/8X24tpi.The splash plate can use some width and depth modifications as it interfer

excellent first impression
better than expected - 5 stars and 2 thumbs up. i know these are low end, entry level, home shop, hobby lathes, but i'm somewhat blown away with this lathe. form, fit, and finish is fairly decent. after initial cleanup, i checked the runout accuracy of the chuck mounting flange. surprised with the .0005 runout. with the 4-jaw chuck, again, SURPRISED with .002 axial runout. tailstock alignment was near dead center to the chuck without any adjustments. first impression - i really can't fault anything with this lathe and as of right now, i would buy again. as i get more into this, i'll post some follow-ups.

Great little machine for the price.
As a gun smith, I The wife loves these. They fit well and are fun to wear. this so that I can do old firing pins. Since I got, I have done 3. It is a nice little unit and the extras make it worth the price.
