This thing is made with flimsy materials (cheap, thin, bent angle iron panels instead of sturdy cast parts, etc), and its design and engineering are questionable.
It only has two uprights instead of three or four, which means they are not at all stable during pressing.
Threading of the main screw is machined directly into the cheap angle iron top panel, so it will definitely strip out over time with any normal force applied to the press鈥攁nd you won't be able to do anything but replace the whole unit once that happens.
Don't waste your money on this if you want something that can really press properly... with this unit, you get what you pay for. It will not stand the test of time.
For background, I'm pressing batches of herbs and spices from tinctures and herbal extractions..
