Non Stop Horizon Non Stop Horizon
Love it!!! Best tool I've purchased in a long time.
Set up - I just purchased a house that has 312 linear feet of raised beds that have a mix of clay, blackberry vines/roots, tree roots, rocks, and other items that were covered by landscape fabric and 6 inches of mulch for . . . a long time. Very compacted, no life in it. As an avid gardener I was dreading the work to get the soil ready for planting. I'm 5'2", late 50s, female, not overly athletic but active, so not real strong and can't spend a lot of time with a shovel before my back and knees are done. This broadfork was amazing. It felt heavy but once it was on the soil I didn't have to lift it again, just stand on it, rock it, then pull it back a few inches and repeat. It took several days, some days I was able to do 10 ft, some days 50 ft, but it's done. It went through tree roots and blackberry roots easily, pulled up rocks and weeds that were popping up with just a little adjustment to go behind the rocks. Very little effort. The clay was a little slower but not a problem. Now I need to try it in a grassy area to set my hoophouse. This is well worth the money, just remember to switch legs when pushing it into the ground. The first day I was sore in my right hip because I only used my right foot. After that I switched back and forth and had no issues. Happy Growing!

Great tool to have
Love it for breaking up tough soils. It's very easy to use, better than trying to swing a mattox or pickaxe, but you'll still get quite the workout! Only reason not 5 stars for sturdiness is because the bolts attaching the handles will loosen with heavy use. Not a huge problem , but just kind of annoying.

Pretty nice tool
Got this to try broad forking in my garden rather than doing continuous tilling. It is not too heavy for me to handle, does a pretty good job in the garden and very easy to assemble. I find it a good value based on prices for similar tools and plan to enjoy using it for years to come.

Works!
I'm a few hours in on using this broadfork and, so far, it works like expected. Hasn't shown any signs of breaking or cracking under stress. Looking forward to getting more work done with it in my garden this year. If anything changes, I'll update my review.

Best Garden tool I've ever purchased.
I have compacted clay soil, making a good garden is difficult. This broad tiller allows me to reach deep into the soil so I can break it up and treat it with gypsum to break down the clay. Now I will be able to plant root vegetables and other deep root plants. Yes it is hard work, but it's the only way to get deep in the ground.

Go partial depth one dig then go in full depth works great
This is one of the best garden tools I have purchased works up ground to a depth greater than the smaller tillers not hard to use at all. I did a good bit of area going over both directions once and it worked up super. Love it.

A definite must have in the garden
It was great for turning up the ground for my garden. It was the first time I’ve ever used it and while the ground was challenging the tool worked great!

Ideal for our high tunnel
This was the perfect tool to help us get our high tunnel rows established and to incorporate our compost into the compact clay and rock!

I love this tool
I bought this for my son last year and he wasn't totally pleased with it so I gave it a 3 star review. This year I got out the broad fork and started breaking up some soil in our new garden. I am 67 years old. I have a hard time walking, without a cane or walking stick. I didn't think I'd be able to use this tool. Boy was I wrong. I used one foot to start the forks into the ground then stood on it and wiggled it around a bit. Not a problem. I leaned back on the handles and pushed down and low and behold the ground opened up. I was thrilled. I am slow but in about an hour I had an area to plant pumpkin. Tomorrow, sweet potatoes. I love this thing. See if my son ever gets to use it again.
