Great for the price!
For half the price of some of the name brand augers you can’t go wrong. Only downside is it likes to bind up right before it breaks through. Could be because my drill is under minimum torque requirements. (I’m running a m18 compact brushless drill rated at 550 in lbs.) Once you figure out how to finesse it it’s great!

Works great
We have been out ice fishing several times this year and each time this is used to drill several holes for fishing and it works great. It cuts through the ice pretty quickly and seems well built.

Plastic dosent matter
I cut 16in ice with this and a Milwaukee 1200 IN/LBS drill Never had a problem used it all day about 15 holes and lost a light on my battery. Works amazing only bad thing I can think off is the cover for the blades, falls off once in a while.

Get a powerful drill, 1200 in-lbs or better
Great product. I used it a day ago to drill six holes in ten inch ice. Blades are sharp, instructions are fairly easy to follow. Two things: no one told me that the eight inch would be so tough on my drill. I am using a new DeWalt XR but it doesn't have enough torque. I know they make one, but mine is not it. The blades bite into the ice and my drill just stops. Then I have to let off the trigger, lift the auger a bit and start again. I can feel the drill heating up. So if you get this get a big drill to go with it. Secondly, I wish it came with a hand crank attachment, or at least that the company offered a hand crank attachment, in case my batteries or my drill fails.

Works great.
I've only used one other ice auger besides this one, the other one being all-metal. This one has really sharp blades, and the plastic flights (the corkscrew part) make it lighter to carry. I couldn't do a side-by-side comparison, but my impression is that this one cuts faster than the old one, and overall is better and easier to use. I don't think it will be as hard-wearing as an all-metal auger, but I'm pretty sure it will last plenty long enough for me with the light use I put it to.

This thing is perfect! Light weight, sharp blades, comes w an extension and cover. As good as anything on the market for WAY less. There is no reason to buy anything else. I would highly recommend to anyone. Attach it to a good drill and you are good to go!

Sharp
Super sharp and very light weight to move around with on the ice. The blades that come with it are very sharp and the plastic is sturdy but can be flimsy and break if not handle properly for sure. The attachment to a drill does come off quiet a bit, I wish it was textured so there be a better grip. For the price it was a good deal.

Works great, 8\" is great size
I was a bit skeptical about this auger considering that it's made of nylon. I'm used to the old school 2-stroke augers with all-metal construction. however, I was pleasantly surprised. This auger is much lighter and easier to mount onto the back of my snowmobile. The blades are just as sharp as anything I've ever used and cut through the ice cleanly and quickly. One benefit of the nylon is that it doesn't seem to build up ice as much as my metal augers. With a lightweight drill, I can drill a more holes, faster and I get less tired overall. Time will tell how long it holds up, but the weight savings is huge. Especially now that I'm a bit older and have more gear than when I was young.
