I had given up on building a hide-away bed due to the high cost of the components. Most systems are several hundred dollars, add the cost of materials and it's cheaper to buy one already built. When I found this kit the project was back on! I used the kit made for a King/Queen vertical, but used it on a Full Size Horizontal, this meant I had to take several springs out of each side to get it balanced properly. Once I got lifting force correct the mechanism works great. The only down side, the instructions provided don't give dimensions of the unit or how to install so there was a lot of measuring and figuring out how to build the bed for these. That is the reason for 4 starts and not 5.

The mechanisms are great!!! The equipment/brackets and braces work fabulously!!! It would be nice if whomever made this set would sit down and write down the directions of how it goes together!!! The pictures in the manual DO NOT explain everything. Good thing my husband is so mechanically inclined that he was able to figure it all out and put if together!!! The bed works wonderfully and is easy to pull down and put back up. The setup was difficult but the end result is wonderful!

These springs and hinges are really big and strong. I'm really a little surprised by how heavy duty they are. The instructions are bad, but there are some great videos online to help. Update. I have a vertical Queen with an 10\" mattress. Even with the springs the bed is pretty heavy. I can bring it up and down easily. But my wife can just barely do it, and my mother can not.

Project turned out to be great! If you're a newbie to woodworking, you might need help from an experienced one unless you want to go through the painstaking of trial and error since there's no instruction for it. You have to design you own. It took me multiple designs and adjustments to correctly align it to where I want it. Granted, mine is built-in wall bed but I think it wouldn't make a difference if you decided to use plywood as it's anchor/foundation.Gave it a four stars because I removed all the springs to adjust the pivot point to the board and it was very hard to put it back. I was only able to manage to put 4 strings per pivot point. Luckily, it's all I needed.Overall, I don't have any other complaints

The Vevor hinges are terrific: strong springs, sleek package and great value.The directions should tell you more about how to work with the hinges as you layout your design. A key tip is to unload the springs from the hinges so you can move the hinges freely to see how they work.Here are a few pictures of the queen-size murphy bed I built with these hinges. The beadboard cabinet looks good in an antique home.To start, I built just the frame using 5/4” x 4” poplar boards. That way I could see everything working before taking the time to build a cabinet. This simple frame may be all you need if your bed folds into a closet or wall.You can absolutely build a great Murphy Bed with the Vevor hinges.

The unit is great and functioning very well.

We did the installation I think it needs better instructions to mounting on the base, also I recommend to take all the springs and attached the pieces is faster and you will have the space to tight the screws

This was a little hard to figure out where it needed to be located so I made a template and it worked fine. Especially for the price. I have it a little overloaded but it still helps with the lifting. I added a sewing desk to the bed so it's a little heave for it . Double bed horizontal install.

Good quality. Worked great. Needs to include plans as an example. Planning took extra time. Very happy with the results.

It really could use some better instructions. It's a good piece of hardware, with many great uses, but I had to make my own plans 100%. NOT for anyone lacking experience in crafting. It worked out well, but took a lot of thought and design to function effectively. If it had a basic draft example of a 10" queen sized bed, it would have helped immensely, as it could then be modified for most installs from that. Solid equipment, but be prepared to create your own design from scratch.
