Excellent fast heat sealing for aluminum coated Kraft pouches. My search ended today. This is far better and durable than sealer. I'm grateful that I found this seller.

Great for mylar bags! Set a tad below 150, plastic bags it just melts.

Definitely just what I was looking for, with the exception of being made in China. But that is hard to avoid these days. In my experience unless you're Apple computers and can oversee the whole process, having a consistent product come out of China is very difficult so that may explain others' bad experiences. But the unit I received has worked well and done a great job so far!

I have been using this to seal foil lined kraft paper coffee bags and it does a fantastic job! It only requires 150 degrees F for about 5 seconds to create a strong seal.My only complaint is that the set screw for the temperature dial was loose, so the dial actually came off before I had a chance to use it for the first time. It was an easy fix with a screwdriver, but I don't know what I would have done if I had lost that screw. I feel like I shouldn't have to tighten screws on a brand new machine. Since fixing that one issue, I have been completely happy with this machine.

Seals heavy Mylar bags easily

I pay with amazon business credit!! Anyway, I'm writing this review under my personal account, associated with my business account]I've been looking for a good sealer at a good price for some time. This is a great value and does a very good job!I sell coffee and need a sealer for poly/kraft and mylar bags. This thing does the job very well.PROS:* Thermostat gives very good control and seems to be pretty precise. Not sure about the accuracy, since I haven't calibrated it, but for what I do I don't need to.* Great heat capacity that allows you to seal a lot of bags quickly.* Very easy to use. I thought from the pictures that it might be balky and hard to use but it is not at all. I set it on the table (it has builtin "feet") and press about two seconds to seal.CONS:* Listing says it heats up to temp in 1 minute. It takes 2 to 2 1/2 minutes to get to temp for the temperatures I use. For the performance I get, I can live with that!This is a great product and is head and shoulders above the cheap heat element units out there, and has a much better price than many.I highly recommend this product!

Worked like it should

The best way to try this is to set different positions and use it on a test bag - counting seconds until you get the seal you want without melting everything, and recording your results. I set mine at 150, and counted 5 seconds on a 5 mil bag - worked well (105c - three one thousand works well too). It has Teflon sealing edges - so you won't stick to it if you melt an edge too far. I would ignore the degree setting and use a laser temp meter (about $10 bucks at the auto parts store) if you really want to graph out your settings, and mark your own optimal positions on the dial. The dial itself is a bit loose, but functional. Well worth the money. Makes 5 line crinkle edges, and is of course the same generic model with a different name every one else is selling. Be careful!! This unit gets hot fast and can seriously burn you if you ignore safety precautions and grab an edge by mistake. ADDON: Part of the problem is holding the edge of the bag while aligning everything. I used two hacksaw blades bolted together with the edges ground down. They will hold the bag closed and the edge straight - works like a charm, see pics. Oh - and the blades are brittle, so don't bend them too much.
