Tin can be melted, but the melting point of tin is too low for our furnace and it's easily burned out. For steel banding, it depends on its melting point, if the melting point is higher than 1500℃, it can't be melted.
I used this to make a blacksmiths forge. To moderate the heat I had to lower the fuel pressure, and install a choke on the air inlet. Basically just a tube to slide over the majority of the cutouts in the pipe.
The temperature this stove can reach is relatively high. If you want to maintain a low temperature, the firepower should be as small as possible. It is recommended to monitor the temperature with a temperature measuring gun.
Nice product all around for beginner. Learning a lot. Still amazed every time I use it. Haven't acquired the skills just yet to make my ingots look all nice and smooth as I see others on various videos and social media sites. Geti g there I think.
For melting down aluminum and my scrap gold this thing works great, I enjoyed it easily hooks up to a propane tank and gets extremely hot extremely fast though I did send you a couple hairs on my forehead when I first looked into the pot
Works very well. It melts what it should melt and it comes with a lot of accessories that don't always come with packs. I wish I could hook multiple tanks up at one time and the \"whip\" that comes with this pack is frayed after a couple of uses. For the price you probably can't ask for more
