Slats slid easily down into most vertical chain links except where the occasional wire tie of the fence to a cross pipe got in the way, but even those ties were relatively easily twisted aside- to allow the flexible "w" shape of the brown slat to slip by. Glad I got the brown color since my wire linked fence is rusty. Recommend using a big flat tipped screw driver to insert down into the locking channel of the lower cross piece. Helps one drop the lowered slat tip into a larger opening when one twists the big wide blade of the screwdriver.
