Paid a contractor $2,300 to level my 1,100 sq ft post & beam country house. Two months later the back door is sticking. He came out and "adjusted" it. Two weeks later, the door is sticking again. I bought this jack and $20 worth of 1/4" metal shims and fixed it myself in 30 minutes. Going to be DIY for all future leveling! Read up on pro tips online, though.

This jack does not have an adjustable top screw. It's the first time I've seen a bottle jack without that feature. I didn't know it until I tried to use it the first time, lifting a wagon with 325 bushels of corn to remove a flat tire. I had to go back to town and get another jack and more blocks of wood to get the wagon high enough to remove the tire. Otherwise, it worked ok, and lifted the load with no problem.
